Rudraksham is a percussion and strings group formed by six talented musicians from Delhi led by P. Vetri Boopathy, an outstanding mridangam (Indian drum) performer. The group’s artists, specialists in fusion and of Carnatic and Hindustani music, the two main musical trends in the South and North of India, are true virtuosos, able to play several instruments.
The group, which is supported by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), the Embassy of India and Casa de la India, digs into the roots of classical music to create complex and original rhythms and melodies. A unique musical journey combining vocals, rhythms and percussion with Indian instruments such as the mridangam, konnakkol, cajón, tabla, violin, sitar and sarangi.
