The “Pythian Oratorio” is a vocal performance, played and sung by chorus with chamber orchestra and soloists. The original music is composed by Mikołaj Blajda. Instruments, sounding and music keys are delivered from both: Western and Eastern culture; of the European and Asian origin. Performance refers to the cradle of Western civilization: sentences of wisdom from Seven Sages of Delphi (VI c. BC) and Herodotus. Several dozen brief sentences were engraved on the omphalos in Delphi. Examples: Follow the God, Know yourself, As a child well-behaved, as a youth – self-disciplined, as of middle-age – just, as an old man – sensible, on reaching the end – without sorrow.
